ZellNano took its first baby steps into the public eye at the 37th Kerala Science Congress, marking a significant milestone for our R&D venture. From February 7-10, 2025, we had the privilege of showcasing our innovations at the prestigious National Science Expo, held on the beautiful campus of Kerala Agricultural University in Thrissur. This opportunity was a dream come true for us, as it allowed us to present our work in Biomaterials to a wider audience.
Upon arriving on February 7th, we set up our exhibition stall alongside other esteemed organizations and R&D startups. The warm welcome we received was truly remarkable, with the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), the organizing body, providing exceptional hospitality. Our stay was arranged at the KILA Aryavalli Guest House, a charming and comfortable accommodation for exhibitors, which added to the overall positive experience. Special Thanks to Dr. Peroth Balakrishnan who coordinated all the events in such a smooth manner and for supporting R&D ventures like ours.
The Expo was a hub of scientific minds, and the interactions we had were both inspiring and encouraging. The support from the Government of Kerala and Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in organizing such an event in Science and Technology was invaluable and we are deeply grateful for their efforts. It’s worth noting how far Kerala has come in fostering an innovation-friendly environment. Growing up, many of us were influenced by films like Varavelpu, Midhunam and Sandesham, which portrayed Kerala as less welcoming to industrial and technological advancements. However, the state has since shattered those stereotypes, emerging as a hub for Startups, particularly in Nanotechnology, Biotechnology and Healthcare innovations. The progress Kerala has made in such a short time is truly remarkable.
This event not only allowed us to showcase our work but also reinforced our belief in the potential of Kerala as a nurturing ground for scientific and technological breakthroughs. We are excited to continue our journey, contributing to this vibrant ecosystem of innovation.
